2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. has met and maintained the accreditation requirements for both the American Association of Suicidology and national Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS), the two primary relevant accrediting bodies for 2-1-1 providers. In addition, over 80 percent of 2-1-1 TBC staff members are AIRS certified, well above the minimum AIRS standard of 25 percent. 2-1-1 TBC also meets two requirements of the State of Florida – certification as a “211 Network Provider” by the Florida Information and Referral Systems (FLAIRS) and annual certification by the Department and Children and Families for Substance Abuse Prevention – as well as three times achieving the Juvenile Welfare Board ASSET Certification. Additionally, Micki Thompson, the Executive Director of 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. serves on the national AIRS Board of Directors, the AIRS Accreditation Committee, serves as a national AIRS Accreditation site visit reviewer, and serves as Vice President of the Florida AIRS Affiliate, FLAIRS.
