What is the Shelter Infoline?

The Shelter Infoline is an all volunteer run hotline that answers calls from individuals and families seeking emergency shelter. The Shelter Infoline provides up to date information on and local referrals to homeless shelters, cold night shelters during the winter months, and post disaster related shelters during times of local emergencies.

We can help match you the shelter that is best for you…

The Shelter Infoline has dedicated volunteer specialists that will answer your questions about shelter availability and try to match you to the shelter that will best meet your needs. Due to limited shelter availability, we will help you brainstorm other housing options and make sure you get connected to a coordinated entry provider.

One simple phone call can provide answers to questions such as:

  • What shelters are currently open?
  • What is the eligibility criteria to get into a shelter?
  • It’s cold outside, where can I sleep tonight?
  • I’ve just lost my home, where can I find shelter for the night?
  • Who can I talk to about my current housing situation?

You can also view Pinellas Shelter Availability anytime online 24 hours a day.
