Are you an individual looking for a volunteer opportunity that offers you a way to help people connect to local community services, give back to your community, meet new people, and utilize your time and talents?

If you answered yes, 2-1-1 TBC may have a volunteer opportunity for you.

Steps for applying to volunteer at 2-1-1 TBC:

  • To Qualify: You must be 18 years of age and able to pass a level II background check.
  • Read Volunteer Description: Scroll down the page to view a list of current open positions. Click the name of the position to read a current volunteer description.
  • Apply Online: To apply for an open volunteer position listed below, click the apply online button next to the job you are interested in. Complete and submit the online application.
  • Pre-Interview Testing: Immediately afterwards, you will be asked to complete our pre-volunteer testing. Need help during testing, please call (877) 909-8378 for support.

PLEASE NOTE: Only when all the above items are completed, will you be considered a viable candidate for volunteering and your application pack will be reviewed. All questions can be sent to media@211tampabay.org.

Individual Volunteer Commitment

We are looking for dedicated, loyal, and skilled volunteers to help be an instant lifeline for those in need.

  • Interview: We do pre-screen all volunteers. You will be required to take some initial testing so we can understand your current skills better and come in for an interview so we can get to know you.
  • Background Check: The State of Florida does require you to complete and pass a background check and drug screen to be eligible for training.
  • Training: Initial training is 16 hours over a weekend. You must attend both the Saturday and Sunday training to completed your 16 hours of training to be eligible to volunteer.
  • Commitment: We are asking for a 1 year commitment to your service that starts with a two day intensive training session over a weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
